Die tragische Brandkatastrophe in Crans-Montana im Kanton Wallis hat tiefe Betroffenheit ausgelöst. Doch neben dem menschlichen Leid, das sich nicht mehr rückgängig machen lässt, wirft das Ereignis auch ernsthafte Fragen hinsichtlich der behördlichen Kontrolle und der geltenden Bauvorschriften auf.

Warum fand in einem ganzen Jahrzehnt nur drei Mal eine Kontrolle statt? Und wie konnte dabei möglicherweise ungeeignetes Baumaterial, etwa im Deckenbereich, unentdeckt bleiben?
Sollten Mängel festgestellt worden sein, stellt sich die Frage, wie und ob die Beseitigung dieser Mängel überhaupt kontrolliert wurde. Denn gerade in Räumen mit hoher Publikumsdichte und in Nachtlokalen muss die Sicherheit höchste Priorität haben.
Die Opfer dieses Unglücks – die zahlreichen Todesopfer und Verletzten – können nicht mehr geschützt werden. Für sie kommt jede Erkenntnis zu spät. Doch um ähnliche Tragödien in Zukunft zu verhindern, müssen jetzt Konsequenzen gezogen werden. Es muss auch geprüft werden, ob die Bau- und Sicherheitsvorschriften im Kanton Wallis noch zeitgemäß und ausreichend sind, insbesondere im Hinblick auf den Brandschutz in Veranstaltungsräumen.
Es ist an der Zeit, transparent aufzuarbeiten, Verantwortung zu übernehmen – und alle rechtlichen sowie baulichen Rahmenbedingungen einer kritischen Prüfung zu unterziehen.

Il est impératif que la responsabilité ne repose pas uniquement sur les exploitants du bar « Le Constellation », mais aussi sur toutes les autorités de contrôle compétentes, qui ont été chargées de vérifier l’établissement au cours des dix dernières années. Pourquoi seulement trois contrôles ont-ils été effectués en une décennie ? Et comment se fait-il que l’utilisation éventuelle de matériaux inadaptés, notamment au niveau du plafond, n’ait pas été relevée ?
Si des manquements ont été constatés, il faut se demander comment le suivi des corrections a été assuré, et si les obligations imposées ont été respectées.
Les victimes de ce drame – morts et blessés – ne pourront plus être protégées. Mais pour éviter que de telles catastrophes ne se reproduisent, des mesures concrètes doivent être prises dès maintenant.
Il convient également d’évaluer si les réglementations en matière de construction et de sécurité du canton du Valais sont encore adaptées, en particulier pour les établissements recevant du public.
Le moment est venu de faire toute la lumière, d’assumer les responsabilités et de réexaminer de manière critique l’ensemble du cadre légal et technique.

Se durante le ispezioni sono state riscontrate irregolarità, è legittimo chiedersi come e se ne sia stata verificata la risoluzione.
Le vittime – i molti morti e feriti – purtroppo non possono più essere protette. Ma se si vogliono evitare tragedie simili in futuro, è necessario agire ora.
Bisogna inoltre interrogarsi se le attuali norme edilizie e antincendio del Canton Vallese siano ancora adeguate, in particolare per quanto riguarda i luoghi destinati al pubblico.
È tempo di affrontare con trasparenza le responsabilità e di sottoporre a revisione critica l’intero quadro normativo e tecnico.

We must also evaluate whether the current building codes and fire safety regulations in the canton of Valais are still sufficient, especially for venues open to the public.
Now is the time for transparent investigation, accountability, and a critical reassessment of legal and technical standards.
